Please join Hope's Door New Beginning Center's Youth Advisory Film Festival and Contest February 22, 2025! 

The mission of Hope’s Door New Beginning Center (HDNBC) is to offer intervention and prevention services to individuals and families affected by intimate partner and family violence and to provide education programs that enhance the community’s capacity to respond.  We have served the Garland community for nearly 40 years.

HDNBC formed the Youth Advisory Council (YAC) in 2023 as a way to engage youth in eliminating violence in our community.  It is a collaborative partnership between our organization and the youth in the communities we serve. By offering opportunities to educate youth about violence prevention, lead fundraising and other outreach projects, and provide new youth perspectives, we hope to empower youth and raise awareness about the anti-violence movement.   

The YAC is seeking short film submissions from youth filmmakers this February in honor of Teen Dating Violence Awareness month:

• Film Topic - Teen Dating Violence
• ENTRY DEADLINE: EXTENDED to February 1, 2025
• EXTENDED! Open to youth and young adults (junior high through college), one entry per student
• 1-5 minute film
• Help educate others about teen dating violence
• Win cash and gift prizes
• Show off your filmmaking skills
