About Us
Poised for Success Learning Academy was founded in 2017 by Dr. Jessie Pelts (Higher Education and College Teaching-Management) and Dr. Shaunise Robinson (Curriculum and Development and Social-Emotional Learning). Dr. Pelts and Dr. Robinson are former educators with extensive experience in developing and delivering educational programs. This mother/daughter team is dedicated to equipping students with life and social skills by building supportive environments to empower students to excel academically, socially, and emotionally. Their background includes managing academic programs, guiding diverse teams, and integrating Social and Emotional Learning principles into curricula to enhance student resilience, communication and interpersonal skills. We are committed to develop personalized strategies that address students' unique needs to prepare them for lifelong success. Our mission is to ensure that Poised for Success students qualify for TAG programs when they enter public/private education. We pride ourselves in producing lifelong learners who are POISED FOR SUCCESS in the classroom, POISED FOR SUCCESS in the workforce and POISED FOR SUCCESS in the community.
