The Company
Quest Window Systems Inc (“Quest”) is a manufacturer of a window wall system designed for high-rise residential developments, based in Toronto, Ontario Canada. Quest services clients from all over North America, including major metropolitan areas such as New York, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Toronto and Vancouver.
 
Purpose: 
The Awning Line Supervisor reports directly to the Production Supervisor and is responsible for the overall management of the Awning department. The main objective of this position is to ensure that the Awning lines assemble all awning parts to become an Awning.  Products will meet the established quality standards and the productivity will be kept within expected ranges. The production activities will be carried out to meet the quality standards dictated by the Quality Team. Productivity and throughput will be monitored to meet the expected performances.
 
Primary Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):
  • Monitoring the work quality, productivity, and attendance of line employees.
  • Ensuring a full roster to maintain manned and operational line positions.
  • Creating contingency plans to ensure shift coverage.
  • Ensuring uninterrupted operation of the line and minimizing downtime as a top priority.
  • Prioritizing the safety of line employees.
  • Training and mentoring all new line employees.
  • Supervising production quality.
  • Providing training and mentoring to maintain the quality of the line's product.
  • Assisting in all process improvement projects and line enhancements initiated by management.
  • Providing technical process data for these programs.
  • Implementing all new procedures and processes required by management for line operations.

Qualifications and Skills Required:
 
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is required.
  • Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Accurate reading of a tape measure (in inches, metric, centimeters, millimeters) and micrometer.
  • Ability to convert fractions and measurement units.
  • Capability to set up machinery as assigned.
  • Proficiency in reading production orders and drawings.
  • Demonstrated competence in Health and Safety practices
