The Company
Quest Window Systems Inc (“Quest”) is a manufacturer of a window wall system designed for high-rise residential developments, based in Toronto, Ontario Canada. Quest services clients from all over North America, including major metropolises such as New York, Los Angeles, Washington DC, and Toronto.
 
Purpose: This position is responsible to lead and coordinate the work of associates to ensure quality product by responsibly inspecting, testing and analyzing the quality of our products and processes to include customer quality requirements. The QC Glazing Team Lead is also responsible to manage and drive the process of continuous improvement within Quality department; focusing on increasing efficiency and eliminating variation in manufacturing processes
Primary Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
 
  • Mentor and coach associates and supervisors on high standards of manufacturing and quality.  
  • Lead a small team to ensure product is manufactured in accordance with standards and practices 
  • Provide guidance on product quality to the Glazing Department and Group Leads. 
  • Identify issues and communicate with other departments on deficiencies that will impact later stages of manufacturing 
  • Ensure technical knowledge of blueprints and details
  • Ability to measure and inspect
  • Familiar with defects related to frame assembly, sheet metal work, glass and aluminum extrusion, fabrication, coating and painting.
  • Strong knowledge of  assembly tolerances, project specifications, inspection criteria and test plan on Glazing Line
  • Create Non Conformity Reports and generate A3’s
  • Ensure the continuous flow of production that meets planned Quality standards while identifying and escalating issues and improvements  
  • Create Quality Control Plans and affectively implement and monitor 
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis and develop Corrective Action Plans 
  • Utilize QA/QC systems and equipment to meet procedures, and standards 
  • Work in a safe manner and follow safe work practices by following plant safety requirements   
  • Meet Quality business expectations by producing acceptable parts, record scrap, document quality checks, identify non-conforming material and follow process to disposition   
  • Understand how the process and support customer service requirements 
  • Challenge status quo values in an open and positive manner by contributing ideas, suggestions and knowledge 
  • Attend and participate in all required meetings by being on time and contributing in a positive and open-minded manner 
  • Clean up at during designated times, putting tools, materials and products in designated spots. 
  • Follow standardized work for all jobs and participate in defining and improving them   
  • Understand and accept internal and external customer expectations, adjust to changing needs within business by being flexible and adaptable 
  • Perform related or other responsibilities as required or assigned 
 
Qualifications and Skills Required:
  • 4-5 Years of Experience
  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree
  • Can lead a small team within their task, acts as a Leads and directs the work of other employees with direction from a manager.
  • Performs of an array of often routine work that is similar to that of the team.
  • Refers issues to higher-level staff.
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.
  • Knowledge of the field's policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Has some authority and or input for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance, or disciplinary actions.
