The Company
Quest Window Systems Inc (“Quest”) is a manufacturer of a window wall system designed for high-rise residential developments, based in Toronto, Ontario Canada. Quest services clients from all over North America, including major metropolises such as New York, Los Angeles, Washington DC, and Toronto.
 
Purpose: 
The Door Group Lead reports directly to the Group Manager and is responsible the manufacturing of swing doors in the Operable department. The main objective of this position is to ensure that the all doors manufactured in Quest Texas facility meet quality and water testing requirements as expected by our clients and building codes. The Door Group Lead ensures products will meet the established quality standards and the productivity will be kept within expected ranges.
 
Primary Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
 
  • Enforce and comply with the Company’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Achieve quality standards of all Quest products
  • Collaborate with the quality team and meet on a weekly basis to review quality reports and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare and participate to the daily production meeting to report on previous shifts performances and plans for the upcoming ones.
  • Monitor and ensure that production schedules / plans are adhered to, ensure door production goals and KPIs are met.
  • Maintain all equipment to its full operating efficiency and coordinate the preventative maintenance plan.
  • Work with the maintenance team to ensure that machinery can operate to meet the highest quality standards.
  • Be accountable and monitor consumable material used by door department.
  • Allocate resources within the door manufacturing stations to meet production requirements and productivity goals.
  • Communicate with production staff on a continuous basis. Monitor production outputs at regular intervals to ensure goals/targets are being achieved.
  • Enforce and ensure orientation process for new hires are completed.
  • Enforce and ensure targeted training for skills gap and/or career development.
  • Maintain department skills matrix
  • Enforce and ensure Progressive Discipline process.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement goals as directed.
  • Recommend safety/production/process improvements to the Plant Manager, Group manager and Senior Management.
  • Participate and contribute to effective production efficiency initiatives. Set up and maintain productivity board on each line.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
  • 4-5 Years of Experience
  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree
  • Can lead a small team within their task, acts as a Leads and directs the work of other employees with direction from a manager.
  • Performs of an array of often routine work that is similar to that of the team.
  • Refers issues to higher-level staff.
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.
  • Knowledge of the field's policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Has some authority and or input for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance, or disciplinary actions.
