Eastfield College will host its annual Career Week on March 5 – 8, 2007. The following is a list ofevents. Monday, March 5, 10:10 – 11 a.m., Room C135 Old School, New School: Talking About Our Generations Presenter: Bill Atkinson, Owner, Express Personnel Plano Description: For the firsttime in history, there are four generations, ages 18 to 80, working side-by-side in the workplace. This lighthearted yet thought-provoking seminar looks at the benefits and challenges of a mixed-generation workforce. Tuesday, March 6, 11 a.m. – 12:15 p.m., Room C135 MySpace is Public Space: Mistakes Job Seekers Make Presenters: Ian Aberle, SMU; Jeri Tillman, American Airlines Center; TerriWyatt, Drug Enforcement Administration and Charsie Williams, UPS Description: Social networking websites such as MySpace and Facebook can be like tattoos—they seemed like a good idea at the time but then you have to live with them forever! This session describes the many ways these websitescan be used by employers and others. Employers will discuss other ways job seekers make mistakes and what they can do to enhance their job searches. Wednesday, March 7, 11:15 a.m. – 12 p.m., Room C135 From Flip-Flops to Business Suits: Your Professional Image Presenter: Daryne DeZengotita, Executive Unit Leader, Avon Description: Employers say they size up job applicants within the first ten seconds. What does your image communicate about you to employers? This session shows you howto polish your professional image to make a positive and lasting impression.
