Job Title: Shipping/Receiving Handler
Classification: Hourly Nonexempt
Reports To:   Warehouse/Distribution Manager
Department: Plant Shipping/Handling                      
 
Summary of Job
Responsible for shipping and receiving all goods into the facility.  Assist in maintaining the warehouse properly organized and maintained to facilitate the movement of the product.
 
Essential Functions and Responsibilities

·Perform daily inventory as needed to provide information for any necessary adjustments.

·Communicate information to the appropriate people, both internally and externally.

·Maintain inventory of purchased products and cycle counts.

  • Coordinate scrap material storage as needed. Oversee changes to the department storage floor plan.

·Coordinate storage locations.

  • Familiar with Scheduling systems and procedures.
  • Must be able to communicate information to all levels of management, customer service and carrier representatives.
  • Must be able and willing to change out propane cylinders on the forklift as required.
  • Must be able to move scrap into the open top dumpster and in the compactor and scrap trailers.
  • Keep work areas clean following 5S guidelines.
  • Other miscellaneous responsibilities as deemed necessary.
  • May be required to perform material move transactions in SAP system as needed.

  • Prior SAP or similar ERP system knowledge.

Environment
  • Exposure to moving equipment.
  • Inside work.
  • Humidity may exceed 80%.
  • Noise may exceed 85dB+.
  • Work in temperatures of 1000 plus with high humidity for up to 12-hour shifts. 
 
Physical Characteristics  
Position Type
  • Full time.
  • Shift work 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (M-F) and 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM (M-F)
  • Overtime expected per business demand.
 
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year manufacturing preferred.
